Correct Filming Position
- Angle Adjustment: Set the GoPro to point almost at your chin while standing straight. Remember, as you ride downhill, the camera should be adjusted to account for the rider ahead being below you. If it seems like the camera is pointing too high, it might be in the correct position.
- Height Placement: Mount the GoPro high on your chest for better composition and reduced shake.
Mounting Techniques
- Extra Arms: Use the extra arms from the HD Helmet Hero to extend the camera further from your chest. This allows for the correct upward tilt and ensures the camera is right-side up.
- Without Extra Arms: If you don’t have extra arms, mount the GoPro upside down to achieve the necessary upward tilt.
Stabilization and Strap Management
- Tighten Straps: Ensure the chest mount strap is tight to prevent movement. If your pack has a sternum strap, position it under the GoPro mount to avoid flapping in front of the lens and stabilize the camera.
- Check Hoses and Straps: Make sure your Camelbak hose or pack straps are not interfering with the camera view.
These adjustments will help reduce shakiness and improve the composition of your footage.
